Black Jack in England and Sweden

Black Jack is a commercially raised auricula and sometimes can be difficult to get to bloom well. Iris a member in England has succeeded in getting hers to bloom very well, as can be seen in the above picture. My Black Jack, here in Sweden, has bloomed much redder than I anticipated, this could be due to me feeding it with 'neem cake' or this is not a true Black Jack, or I've been told that Black Jack is raised commercially by cloning and it could be that this may be one of the side effects of mass producing auriculas by cloning. I will see how it blooms next year.

It's good year for seeds.

Seed heads on Sofia
This year looks like being a very good year for seeds. The majority of my auriculas have formed good seed heads; both from my hand pollinated and open pollinated auriculas.
