A green edged gift from Germany, perfect for my hat

Susanne a member in Germany has very kindly sent me this very nice gift of a green edged auricula she has crocheted; it fits perfectly on my auricula hat and I shall wear it with pride.
Thank you Susanne.

Slowly getting there despite the snow

Auriculas cleaned and checked
I've been cleaning and checking the auriculas that I will have for sale in April. The cold weather along with the snow have delayed things a little and some auriculas are still to get going. I have so far cleaned and checked 48 different named varities of auriculas; which is about a third of the different varieties I will have for sale.
Hopefully I should have around 150 different auricula varities for sale from the middle of April.
Snow again!!!!

Frozen fingers

It was only plus two in the greenhouse today, so my fingers soon became frozen when cleaning up some of my mother plants. I do hope it warms up soon; despite the cold I found a small Berit in a cold frame that is beginning to bloom.

Sunny days, cold nights

Here you can see one of my cold frames; I now keep them open all the time so that the auriculas are well ventilated. At the moment we have daytime temperatures of plus 8°C, but at night it drops to minus 6°C; keeping the frames open (the greenhouse is also kept open) keeps the cold frames cool during the day. Auriculas dislike large swings in temperature.

Bernadette x 2

Bernadette giving a little TLC to my auriculas

Bernadette has been helping me by cleaning up some of my auriculas after their winter rest.
She has been very helpful and the auriculas appreciate the attention as can be seen by the picture below
of a Little Rosette already in bud.
I also have dark border auricula named Bernadette
; which has a particularly good coating of ‘farina’.
